International environmental systems certified

Kiwi Labels has worked hard to gain the Telrac International standard ISO 14001 certification, aligning their commercial objectives with environmental responsibilities. This certification involves a constant awareness and drive to reduce the impact the business has on the environment. The business is regularly audited by external assessors to ensure standards are met. This shows Kiwi Labels’ genuine and proven capability to manage environmental concerns. This includes sourcing sustainable and biodegradable materials, reducing use of energy and raw materials and responsible waste management.

Sourcing sustainable supplies

One of the most important parts of being environmentally responsible is the sourcing of materials. Kiwi labels obtain their raw materials from ecologically aware companies. This means that not only are the processes used to create these products gentle on the environment, but the products themselves are compostable and use plant-based adhesives. This ensures the whole supply chain is ethical and environmentally friendly.

The materials used are PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) and FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) certified. FSC is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that promotes responsible management of the world’s forests. PEFC is the world’s largest certification system for forests. These internationally recognised groups ensure that:

• National and international laws are followed

• Worker’s rights and health and safety best practices are followed

• Indigenous people’s legal rights and cultural influences are respected

• The planning, management and implementation of environmentally responsible standards are upheld throughout the planting, growing and harvesting process

This means the trees are sustainably, sympathetically and responsibly grown and harvested.

The range of KiwiSELECT products are compostable, the adhesives are plant-based, and they offer a renewable, environmentally friendly source product that still results in a high-quality end product for our customers.

Reduce and recycle

It makes sense to use fewer resources and reduce waste. Not just environmentally, but financially too. Using materials wisely to produce minimal waste is the first step in the production process. Machinery and the plant are run responsibly to reduce electricity usage. Minimal packaging is used to decrease waste in the distribution process. 

Finally, the waste produced by KiwiLabels is minimal, and is disposed of responsibly. Where possible, materials are recycled, while the waste from our production process is biodegradable.
